Thorncrag Bird Sanctuary
Thorncrag was begun by Dr. Jonathon Stanton as a wild life preserve. It is located in Lewiston by Bates College. It was built in 1921.
The original purpose of the Thorncrag Sanctuary was to protect the animals and the plants of the area. It is still important to Lewiston because it is still to keep animals safe. The current purpose is to make animals healthy. An important task today is helping animal survive in the winter in Lewiston.
I learned that animals need help to service in the wilderness.
My daddy brought my puppies and me there. It use to be a kids camp. It has a huge fireplace. My parents are bringing me there to camp out.
