The
"Good Old Days" are in the making. This project is
geared for students to share with relatives and other
community members the good times all generations
remember and treasure from their youth. What memories
does each generation share with their children and
grandchildren? We have all heard at one time or other
stories from our grandparents that always begin with I
remember when I was your age...
we
all ate dinner together...
fast
food was a sandwich Mom made...
it
only cost a dollar to go to the movies...
penny
candy cost a penny...
we
listened to radio shows because there were no
televisions...
the
biggest hills were closed to traffic on snow
days so that all the neighborhood children
could go sliding...
The
"Good Old Days Are Today !" and this year we
experience a good old-fashion Maine winter with over a
hundred inches of snow (so Far) and many many days of
inclement weather which resulted in school
cancellation our project experienced a few setbacks.
Even
so we hope you enjoy a glimpse of Lewiston's past and
a snapshot of Lewiston today.
